Happy Wednesday my crafty people! Today I am sharing some fresh inspiration for the inside AND outside of your cards with some new Catherine Pooler inks & products available now! Have you ever made a card with NO sentiment on the front? What do you think about that? I guarantee that the front of this card is that cute that you won't even think about needing a sentiment. Below I have a full process video sharing my entire process on making this fun card.
First, I started with the 40 Love Patterned Paper from Catherine Pooler. This is new and I really love the color combinations here. Not only does it go perfectly with the NEW ink colors, Verbena & Goldenrod, but also with one of my other favorite colors, Clay Mask. This patterned paper features a lot of geometric patterns, but also some tennis patterns! I used to play tennis in high school, so this paper spoke to me on a nostalgic level.
I decided to use this lovely striped paper that features ALL the colors for the front of my card. I used the A2 Liner Die from our Card Sentiment Dies set to cut out the perfect card base for the front of my A2 sized card. This background also made my handmade bike pop! For my bike, I used Clay Mask for the base, Midnight for the wheels & the adorable cat, Over Coffee for the basket, and Verbena for the seat and handle. It's fun how much you can customize your bike!
I also added some balloons into my basket using the new Goldenrod ink color. I felt this bike with the cat & balloons was so adorable on it's own, I didn't want to take away from it! So I decided to just put that on the front of my card by itself. The Wimbledon sequins are the perfect pair and colors to add that final touch onto the front of my card. I loved adding some onto my bike & balloons for those fun extra details! Since the front of my card doesn't have a sentiment, I knew the inside had to have one.
I started by spreading some of the new Verbena Ink, direct-to-paper onto some white cardstock. I do this sometimes with my new Catherine Pooler inks because they come super juicy & I love that! I love using the excess ink on my cards as a pure cardstock color that I created. I used the Dots & Scallops Dies to cut out some of the purple to break up the patterned paper on the inside of my card. I then used Clay Mask to stamp my sentiment - and check out how perfectly these stamps fit with our small rectangle Card Sentiment Dies!
I also cut out a couple more A2 Liners for the inside of my card, and then added sequins where I thought appropriate (which would be everywhere!). I put the sentiment onto my card with the foam squares to add some dimension.
I love how both the front & inside of this card turned out - it's simple but really eye catching with the color scheme. I also love how simple it was to be able to incorporate our Card Sentiment Dies to make creating this card that much easier!
Let me know what you think in the comments, would you make a card with no sentiment on the front?
Happy Crafting!
