Fun Fold Card - With A Bow!

I have another fun project featuring the bow from our Gift Card Holder Die - With A Bow set. Not only that, but this fun card make also includes our A2 Liner Die from our Card Sentiments Die pack & our Original Gift Card Holder Die! You can grab all these goodies in our Die Cut Sentiments Bundle today! They truly are die cuts to be used over & over again. Let's get into the project! Below you will find a full process video sharing how this fun card came together!

First, you will need to start with a 12x12 piece of paper. I like to use double sided paper, since when you fold this card, you will end up seeing both sides easily. Then, trim it down so the width is 5.5 inches.

Using your score board, you will now begin scoring your paper (on the long side) 4 times. First, score at 1 3/4 inches, then 3 & 7/8 inches. A neat trick I use is to just flip the paper over, and score those same two spots on the other side as well!

Here is a ruler image I created to help myself remember the measurements of each line on the ruler :) (don't tell anyone I have a degree in finance!)

Now we just fold our card. The creases closest to the middle get folded in, while the creases on the outside get folded out. You will have something that resembles a tri-fold card, and it will meet in the middle once completely folded.

The greatest part about this size card is that it will fit perfectly in an A2 sized envelope! It ends up being A2 sized after all is said and done. Now, we will want a sort of belt, or flat to hold it all in place. This is where our bow comes into play!

Cut out a strip 9 inches long and 1 inch in width. From there, you will use your card to fold your strip around it so it connects - this is where you will tape it down. Once your "belt" is folded over, it should come out to be about 4 & 3/8 inches in width total.

Then, I used Altenew's Glitter cardstock and cut two 1 inch strips, 4.25 inches long. Each strip of glitter paper will go on the front & back of your newly created belt. Then, you add your matching glitter bow!

This is the perfect embellishment to hold down your card & just look at how beautiful that comes out!

Now, you can focus on the inside of your card! I purposefully measured it this way so we could fit the A2 Liner on the middle inside section of the card. With this one, I decided to create a hidden flap like I've done in other cards, in order to allow for a little privacy when writing your sentiments, and now we can utilize it to hold a Gift Card Holder!

I cut out two A2 liner dies, and then lined the inside one with some white paper using a Catherine Pooler Scallop die, where you can write your sentiments. The second A2 liner goes straight on top of it. I scored a line at 3/4 inch wide at the top half of the liner. I then added some thin adhesive tape so I could put this on top of the inside liner, and that way it can flip open.

I decorated my outside liner die with another cute crafty saying from this adorable line from Echo Park, I Heart Crafting. This is the perfect collection to use if you have a crafty friend! Then you can gift them a fun relatable card, and include a gift card to their favorite crafty store!

I also created some fun flowers using a Sizzix flower die cut set and added some fun details like sequins & "dew drops" from Sizzix Liquid Gloss. Then for the flap on the inside, I used another cute card from the I Heart Crafting Collection, and also created another strip, this time out of some glitter cardstock.

This strip was also 1 inch in width and I just used our A2 Liner Die to cut the length I needed! This made it perfect to adhere onto the inside flap. I put it more towards the bottom to not cover the cute saying, then added some more adorable handmade paper flowers on this one. I only put the thin tape on the outsides of the strap, so you could slip the gift card holder inside. You could add another bow if you wanted! But I felt like mixing it up on the inside with the flower embellishments.

Then the easy part is to cut out a Gift Card Holder! Our Original Gift Card Holder is so fun because it's just one cut, and it's this really unique adorable design. I decided to use the red patterned paper on the back of this cute crafting paper, but you could use a more plain paper and decorate with our stamps, or even sequins!

I truly enjoyed making this card. It was a lot of fun & I hope you follow along with me and create this on your own! I can't wait to do it with some fun Christmas paper. Make sure to grab your Die Cut Sentiments Bundle today and you can make this super unique card for your friends & loved ones!

Happy Crafting!
