Hello everyone! Sara Scraps with you today. I love a project that is pure fun but sometimes I want to create something with a little more meaning. Today’s project is one of those.
I have been working on my family tree and my ancestry since 2018. For some family members, I have stories and photos, and lots of info. Other family members lived a little quieter. I have these stories collected into a 6X8 album.
For my project, I wanted to create two pages with a large space for journaling. Emily’s Vertical Pocket Die was a great starting point for creating that page
I created a tag to slip into my pocket, that will hold my journaling. For a title, I paired some rub-on letters with the you from the For You Word Dies. This page is outside the page protector so that anyone can pull out the tag and read my journaling.
And who am I journaling about? When you turn the page, there is a photo of my great-grandmother (to my knowledge it is the only photo that exists of her.) and a picture of her gravestone.
I want to journal about my thoughts. As you can see, her gravestone just says Mother. And she had 11 children, the youngest being my grandfather. I haven't included my journaling in the photos to keep it private.
I wanted to add a lot of layers to the page, but also keep it relatively flat (a common problem for scrapbookers.) To help, I die cut a few of the decorative rectangles from the Decorative Sentiment Dies to layer under my photos. And then I also added three of the banners from the same die set to add a cluster in the upper left corner of my page.
