Hello! This is Lauren Z. here today sharing my Cake Gift Card Holder idea.
My niece will be graduating high school this year and has been accepted to the University of Kansas. We are all super proud and excited about this new chapter! To celebrate her achievement, I created a cake gift card holder in her new school colors!
This idea would also be great for other school achievements or events. Just use colors that pertain to your recipient’s school, college or university.
To create my gift card holder, I started with the Confetti Layered Stencil and a piece of white cardstock. I inked the first layer in yellow, the second layer in blue, and the last layer in red.

I then used the Make A Cake – Gift Card Holder Die Set to die cut all the elements of my cake as shown in the photos below.

I wanted to add a sentiment behind the gift card so my niece would see it when she removed it. I decided to have the chant “Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk” which people shout out at the University’s sporting events, as part of my sentiment. So, I printed it from my computer then used the label die from the Decorative Sentiment Die Set to die cut it out.
Next, I stamped the word Congratulations that is included in the All the Happy Things Stamp Set onto the label. I added red ink around the edges of the label so that it would stand out more and adhered it to the cake.
To finish off my cake gift card holder I adhered a few dollops of icing to the label then added the gift card onto the holder. Ta Da! The cake is ready to go!
