Make your own stencils using your die cuts!

Create Your Own Stencils!

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing how you can use your dies to create your own stencils! This technique is so fun, you can basically use any of your dies to create your own designs. I love this technique, it makes it so easy to be creative! Check out my full video tutorial below to see how this works!

The first thing I did was used the Catherine Pooler Belly Laughs cover plate die. This is an easy way to create a stencil background because it's already in one piece! I decided to cut out my dies using vellum, to create a more sturdy piece for the stenciling, but you could use a heavier cardstock as well if you have that on hand. Below is an image of the belly laughs die after the stenciling, you can use this piece of vellum on a separate card!

Below is an image of the vellum piece next to my stenciled card base! In order to create my card base, I used my new Card Sentiment Dies and cut out the A2 liner with some grey & white cardstock. This die works so nicely as a card base, but can also be used for the inside of the card as well!

The next stencil I made was out of bats! This stencil was so fun because I just used ONE DIE!!! I then decided to create a layered stencil using the little stars that came in this die set. I just cut out the stars on a separate piece of vellum. I placed the sheet on top of the bat stencil I created and then placed the stars exactly where I wanted them so they wouldn't overlap.

Isn't this so cool!? Now you can create your own stencils also just by using your dies! Let me know if you try this idea!
