Christmas Sweater Slimline Card Design

Hi crafty friends! Today I am sharing a super simple & fun slimline card. I am featuring our NEW Christmas Sweater Layered Stencil & sharing how you can use it in so many different ways. Below I have a full process video sharing how this card came together, check it out!

Here's a nice graphic I created that shares the different sizes of all the possible slimline cards you can make!

Emily Moore Designs Different Slimline Card Sizes
Today, I made a popular sized slimline card. I started with an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper and trimmed the long side (11 inches) down to 7 inches & scored at 3.5 inches on that side. Then you just fold it in half & you have your slimline card! This size is really simple, especially if you start out with that 8.5 x 11 piece of paper because you keep the length the same!

I decided with this card, I wanted to keep it very simple. I choose one line of our Christmas Sweater Stencil layers to use on the front of my card. Our Christmas Sweater Stencil is 7.5 inches in width, so I just needed to move it over one time in order to fill the entire space of the 8.5 inches in width. I started with ink blending, so I wouldn't have to wait for drying time with the front!

I chose the snowflake layer with some Pixie Dust to make more of a purple non-traditional Christmas card. I then used the second layer with the triangles with some Simon Hurley Gold Rush Lunar Paste. This paste is so lovely to use with our Christmas Sweater Stencil. Today I sprinkle a little glitter on it, but the Lunar Paste is fantastic on it's own. If you want to learn even more about Lunar Paste, you can check out my blog post HERE that goes into tons of detail! I also love using the Lunar Paste to create our charms for our Ornament Die pictured below!

A while back, I created my own glitter paper using an Adhesive Sheet & some really beautiful gold glitter I have from Stacey Park. This is such a fun way to play with glitter & create your own specialty paper if you don't have any! From there, I put an Adhesive Sheet on the back of this paper before running it through my die cutting machine with the Christmas words (this way it forms a sticker & is easier to adhere). I used an older Sizzix Word Die Set I had in my stash for the words, you can use whatever you have at home as well!

For the inside, I decided to use the Gold Lunar Paste on the Reindeer & Candy Cane layer! I love using Lunar Paste on these delicate layers. I did mess up a little, but I still feel like it turned out great. I learned with some experience that if you apply a LOT initially onto your stencil, then scrap off in an even layer, that gives you a cleaner result.

I then decided to use a second layer that doesn't line up with the Reindeer & Candy Cane layer normally with our stencil! This is what's so fun about our Christmas Sweater Stencil, you can truly mix & match to get any design you love. Plus the layers allow you to use different mediums & colors!

I added the words "& Happy New Year" to the inside of this card which felt very fitting. Although there is a lot of white space, I quite like the simple feel of this card. What do you think?
