How to Ink Blend Backgrounds

How to Ink Blend Backgrounds

Hi everyone! I am very excited to show my first of 3 cards for the Feeling Fall release from Catherine Pooler! Get ready for fall with this adorable Appley Ever After Stamp & Die Set, and we can't forget the adorable Bushel Basket Die either. Check out my video below where I walk you through how I used ink on pretty much every aspect of this card! This was a lot of fun!

I first started out inking some scrap paper with Spiced Ink. This is what I then used to die cut out my basket. I knew I wanted to 'make my own apples' with this new Appley Ever After Stamp & Die Set.. this part was so fun! I felt I really got the hang of it when I actually die cut out my paper first, then inked my apples. There are plenty of different apple designs, and so many color choices you could use, but here I used Samba, Sauna, Wintergreen, It's A Girl, and then Spiced & Deck the Halls for the leaves and stems.

For my background, I used Deck the Halls, & Wintergreen for my "field" and then Whipped Honey, Shea Butter & Samba, for my "sunrise sky" look I wanted. I taped each section off with washi, you could definitely not tape it, and leave it more blended, but I wanted the different lines in there. I also grabbed a wet paintbrush (just with water) and splattered the water onto the green part of my card. You can see the cool effect that made!

I decided to use some white embossing powder on some kraft paper to stamp my "Full of Joy" stamp from the Joyful Thankful Stamp Sentiments set. I LOVE this stamp set! It has such bold lettering and the sayings are very versatile. For the inside of the card, I actually made a mistake! You will have to watch that in the video ;) but I stamped the saying "you're my appley ever after" with Deck the Halls and did some ink blending on the inside as well to complete my perfect apple basket card.

I also lined the right side with the pattern paper from the 6x6 Bushel and Peck Paper Pack (coming out tomorrow!) that had the basket weave look and went with my theme. Then I just put a piece of white paper there so someone could write their sentiments. I of course finished off the front and inside with some sequins.

I just adore this card! It came out so bright and cheery, and I love the apple theme, I know you will too! For StampNation members, you can get early ordering today, otherwise, this release comes out tomorrow, August 2nd at 9 am!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, it was so "sweet" of you... see what I did there?

With Heart,

Emily
