Hi my lovely crafty friends! It's the week of Valentine's Day & I wanted to be sure to fill you with tons of inspiration for cardmaking. Not only for your partner/spouse, but also to people in your life you care about: think nieces, nephews, mom's, dad's, aunt's, uncle's, friends -- you get the idea! Today I am sharing FIVE different cards I created by using just our Card Sentiment Dies & our Decorative Sentiment Dies. Below is a full process video if you'd like to see me create each card!
Just a note: Our Decorative Sentiment Dies have been extremely popular (thank you!) so they are currently on backorder. We expect to have more in stock later next week. Thank you for your patience & feel free to order now to secure your spot!
The idea I had was to create a template so that you could recreate this look for any type of card. That's what I love about die cutting. You can choose dinosaur patterned paper with blues & greens & make a little boy's birthday card! Or you can pick out yellows & floral pattern paper for a nice take on a spring card.
Either way, with our Card Sentiment Dies & Decorative Sentiment Dies, it makes it very easy to layer on the fun & create beautiful, unique cards - for anybody in your life!

From there, I die cut out 10 different A2 Liner Dies in different pattern papers, along with 10 of the Decorative Frames (smaller & larger sized) in pattern paper. I also cut out 5 of the larger Decorative Frame in white cardstock, knowing the inside of each card would have an A2 Liner Frame with a white decorative border, perfect for writing your sentiments (which is one of the reasons I designed it!).
I also die cut some chunky banners in the stark red paper and certain patterned papers I liked. Once I had all my elements cut out, it was time to assemble! I also cut out 5 Vertical A2 sized card bases (4.25 x 5.5) which has become my favorite size recently! Then it was all about mixing & matching the patterns & sentiments to find the perfect match!
The card above features the A2 Liner Die, then both the larger & smaller Decorative frame in different pattern paper with our banner sentiment right in the center of the card. Imagine how many different types of cards you could make with this format! For the inside, I used the same template for almost all the cards!
On the right you see what I showed earlier, the A2 Liner Die with the larger Decorative Die frame. This is why I designed our Decorative Sentiment Dies. To add a lovely border onto the A2 Liner Die, but it still be unique with that embossed arrow detail!
On the left side, I used the smaller Decorative Frame in that floral pattern behind the rectangle Card Sentiment Die (with that sweet saying) & tucked some banners underneath for some contrast & dimension. All of these cards mimic the same idea, but are different a little bit here or there.
This card, while simpler with just the A2 Liner Die & Decorative Frame in that floral paper, I felt gave a ton of contrast with that busy pattern against the red. I didn't feel like it needed any more layers! I topped this one off with the banner die as well, a classic Valentine's Day card!
The smaller decorative frame with the red cardstock really makes the embossing pop! I felt since there was a lot of red, I could add an additional banner here - the heart one to the right - with the red filling in the heart space. Isn't this one striking?
I also love this saying - this is one of those cards you could give to a friend, not just your spouse!
I knew I wanted to do a vertical A2 card as well. This one is the most unique from the other designs. I loved this floral patterned paper and didn't want to cover it up too much so I put the sentiment on the far bottom left hand corner. The "be mine" was cut out using the smaller frame from our Card Sentiment Dies, and then I used the our larger banner die from the Decorative Sentiment Dies to frame it. I then cut the left part off to make it even & butt it up against the left side of the card.
I didn't use any chunky banners on the inside of this card! Instead, I just used the smaller decorative cut outs & criss-crossed them & put the banner on top. I felt this made the pattern paper shine!
The final two cards follow the first two as far as design. I just love a good floral pattern!
Notice on the front of this card how I was able to use the decorative frame to cut out this Love Saying instead of the Card Sentiment Die! I love how wide this frame is.
Using solid colors for the banners here contrasts well against the busy floral patterned paper!
This last card is fun because I used the A2 Liner Die with the smaller decorative frame on the outside of my card. I also put my sentiment off to the side so you could see those lovely flowers.
This is one of my favorite sayings on the Love/Valentine's Sheet! I'm curious, which cards are you're favorite? Let me know in the comments below!
These two are my favorite:
Hope you loved this one! Happy early Valentine's Day to everyone & please remember, if Valentine's Day feels tough: love comes in many forms, and you are valued, appreciated, and never alone. Be kind to yourself today & everyday—you deserve it!
Much love,
Emily
