Hey crafty friends! It's Emily & today I want to help you make a card that feels like it belongs to one person. Think of their favorite color, the first letter of their name or a little charm that reminds you of them. That's where the fun starts!

Our Alphabet Charm Dies, Everyday Charm Dies & Chain Dies give you lots of ways to bring those details together. Here are a few ideas, plus some things to check before you glue everything down.

Start With the Name, Then Choose Your Card Size

A full name makes such a lovely focal point! In the photo below, the ELLIE card has several curved chains, a soft stenciled background & gold letters across the front.

1. Die cut the name & lay the letters out with a little space between each one. Do this before choosing your final card size.
2. Try your chain above the letters. The largest Chain Die is about 7 inches long, so a landscape A7 card, 5 by 7 inches, gives you room to work. For a smaller card, check the fit & trim the chain ends if needed.
3. Choose a quiet background so the name is easy to read. The two Simply Diamonds stencils are separate designs, not layers that build one pattern, making this a fun option.
4. Arrange the letters along the curve, then secure them once you're happy with the spacing. Keep adhesive away from any loops you want to move.

Repeated letters? You can run your Alphabet Charm Dies through again. The Vowel Charm Dies are an optional way to cut extra A, E, I, O & U letters in the same font and size.

Choose Charms That Say Something About Your Person

You don't need a name to make a card personal. A clover can send a little luck, a flower can be lovely for a gardening friend & a heart is always a sweet place to start. The larger diamond design leaves an open center for a name or pendant.

Choose two or three shapes from the Everyday Charm Dies & cut them in coordinating colors. The set includes separate connective loop dies for joining the charms to your chain. Arrange the pieces before attaching them, leaving enough room for each shape to be seen.

Turn One Initial Into a Pendant

If a whole name feels like too much for your design, try just one letter. I made this pink L card for my niece Lucy!

The small Daisy Circle from the Doilies & Daisies Circle Dies makes a lovely pendant behind the initial. The circle set is sold separately from the Simply Charming Bundle. You can also try a small shape you already own.

Keep the background soft, layer your initial over the pendant & check that the chain doesn't hide the letter. A little foam adhesive can lift the pendant while the rest of the card stays fairly flat.

Spell out your Title or Saying

The fun part about the Alphabet Charm Dies is the personalization it adds. Of course you can do names & initials, but what about spelling out your sentiment or saying you are trying to convey?

Emma created this Merry Christmas card below using our Alphabet Dies to spell out the entire "Merry Christmas" saying! What a statement this makes on your holiday cards.
