Hey everyone! I love finding creative ways to stretch my supplies, so today I’m sharing a simple yet elegant card featuring the Horizontal Pocket Dies with a twist.
We won’t be using them as pockets at all! Instead, we’ll turn them into decorative elements for the front of our card. Let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
Step 1: Assemble the Front Card Panel
Start by die cutting the Horizontal Pocket Dies twice using two different pieces of cardstock. I used solid colors, but this is a great opportunity to experiment with patterned, glitter, or textured cardstock whatever fits your style.
Take one of the die cut panels and adhere it a few inches in from the left edge of an A2 card panel. This will serve as your background layer. Then place the second die cut on top using foam tape, aligning it flush with the left edge of the card panel for dimension.
Next, stamp and heat emboss a sentiment from the Just Wanted to Say stamp set. I chose white embossing powder for a crisp contrast against the cardstock.
Step 2: Decorate the Inside of the Card
Using the larger panel from the Decorative Sentiment Dies set, cut two identical pieces of cardstock.
I chose a light patterned paper that coordinates with the colors on my front panel. Die cut the hello sentiment from coordinating cardstock and adhere it to the right panel inside the card.
Stamp your chosen sentiment underneath the die cut. I used miss you tons from the Just Wanted to Say stamp set. It pairs perfectly with the hello greeting.
Die cut a banner using the Decorative Sentiment Dies. I used leftover patterned paper from the inside of the card to tie everything together.
Trim the banner into two uneven pieces one longer than the other for added visual interest. Adhere them to the top left corner of the card using foam tape as a final decorative touch.
