Crafting with Scraps!

Hello!  Rachel here, and today we are going to focus on using up scraps-along with some beautiful Emily Moore Designs products!

If you are anything like me, you save all of your pretty patterned paper scraps. 

I even save the manufacturer strips that come at the top of each sheet of paper.

Fortunately, I have the perfect project for using those scraps up!

For this project you will need:
Decorative Sentiment Dies
Just Wanted To Say Stamp Set
Gentle Reminders Stamp Set
From the Crafty Corner Stamp Set

Step One: Gather Together Your Scraps

Go through your stash and find any manufacturer strips and/or leftover papers.  If using leftover papers, cut them down to be about 3/4” wide.

Cut a rectangle of card stock for your base.  The base needs to be just bigger than the largest die in the Decorative Sentiment Dies (4.75 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide.)  Tip: Use a lightweight card stock. It will be easier to run through the die cutting machine later.

Step Two:  Adhere Strips to Panel

Add dry adhesive to your entire rectangle-making sure to get adhesive as close to the edges of the panel as possible.

Adhere the patterned paper strips to the panel starting from one end and working up towards the top of the panel creating a striped design.  Try to butt each strip right up to the one before it without gaps in between each strip.

Step Three: Die Cut and Decorate

Die cut the panel using the largest decorative die from the Decorative Sentiment Dies.  

Make sure to run the panel back and forth a few times in the die-cutting machine to ensure the decorative die cuts through all of the layers.

Now it's time to decorate!

There are so many fabulous Emily Moore Designs products that are perfect for decorating your panels.  

For my first card, I die cut the smaller decorative die from the Decorative Sentiment Dies and stamped my sentiment using a stamp from the Gentle Reminders Stamp Set.  I also stamped a heart from The Crafty Corner Stamp Set and colored it in with a marker.

For my second card, I stamped a sentiment from the Just Wanted To Say Stamp Set on a die cut label from the Decorative Sentiment Dies.  I also used a paper die cut from my stash.

I popped all of my elements up off the panels with foam tape to help them stand out better against the busy backgrounds.

For the final step, attach the panels to card bases, and you have some fun cards using up those beautiful scraps!
